Tina,

I've been enjoying your blog.

You asked - Why is it easy to help others, yet difficult to ask for help?

I think that sometimes, it seems like it takes too much time to even get organized enough to ask for help. You need help, but it seems too hard, so you do it yourself, and wish you had help.

We've launched a very simple new online tool that breaks this vicious circle and helps moms ask for help - VolunteerSpot.com. With our free site, anyone can create a schedule of needs (meals, babysitting, after school pick-up), and invite their friends and family to signup to help through an email message or link. With everyone choosing a shift or two and helping in 'small bites', no one feels overwhelmed. VolunteerSpot sends automated confirmation and reminder messages to gently help folks keep their commitments. The mom in need gets a break, and feels supported without having to jump through hoops or take on a major coordination project.

We've also been helping super-volunteer moms get to bed on time. You know, the PTA, Little League, Scout Leader, Charity-Committee Chair mom. We make it super easy to schedule, signup and remind volunteers online - eliminating clipboards, back-and-forth emails, and frustrating Yahoo!Groups messages.

Please check us out and let us help!! We're new and would love to hear your feedback.

Karen
